Thomas Jefferson statue and Peace Medal  -  Museum of Westward Expansion, St. Louis, MO.  President Jefferson selected Meriwether Lewis to lead an expedition into the newly acquired "Louisiana Territory."  He hoped to find a "Northwest Passage" and open more trade routes to Asia.
